Iran Climbs in FIBA World Ranking Boys
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s boys’ basketball team climbed in the FIBA World Ranking Boys.
Iran moved up to 20th with 528.8 points in the ranking.
The US defended its spot atop the Ranking with 817.07, thanks to winning the FIBA U-16 Americas Championship 2023 and reaching the Semi-Finals of the FIBA U-19 Basketball World Cup 2023.
Spain once again is ranked second in the world, jumping from 722.6 points to 745.9. The Spanish ended a 24-year drought and claimed its second FIBA U-19 World Cup title following 1999 while also winning the FIBA U-16 European Championship 2023 and taking second place at the FIBA U-18 European Championship 2023.
France is still No. 3 with 732.7 points after finishing second at the FIBA U-19 World Cup 2023, third at the U-16 European tournament and fourth at the U-18 European level in the summer of 2023.
Following France at No. 4 once again is Australia (690.6) with Serbia jumping one spot to fifth with 690.1 points.
