Palestinian Teenager Injured in Israeli Forces' Raid in West Bank

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Israeli soldiers shot a 17-year-old Palestinian teenager in the neck with live ammunition during a recent raid in Aqaba, north of Tubas, as confirmed by the Wafa news agency.

The extent of the teenager’s injury was not clear. He was taken to the Turkish Tubas Governmental Hospital for treatment.

Israeli forces, besides targeting earlier areas, conducted additional raids in various locations, including the Jenin refugee camp, the city of Jenin, Deir Ammar refugee camp in Ramallah, and Aqabat Jabr refugee camp in Jericho.

During a raid in al-Jalama village northeast of Jenin, at least nine young men were arrested by Israeli forces, marking one of several overnight raids across the occupied West Bank.

The scope of the raids extended to the arrest of young men in al-Jalama village, accompanied by similar operations in the adjacent village of Arana within the occupied West Bank.

Additional raids also targeted multiple regions, encompassing the city of Jenin, the Al-Damj and Al-Hawashin neighborhoods in Jenin, Balata refugee camp east of Nablus, Al-Taawon, an Alawite neighborhood in Nablus, Deir Ammar refugee camp west of Ramallah, and Qaffin north of Tulkarem.

Al Jazeera's Hamdah Salhut, reporting from occupied East Al-Quds, observed the Israeli attacks in Nablus and Jenin, with arrests reported in Jenin and the Jenin refugee camp.

Freedom Theatre has said that the latest Israeli raid on the Jenin refugee camp in the occupied West Bank is “(lighting) up the sky with flare bombs”.

“Christmas Day begins with another attack on Jenin Refugee Camp,” the Jenin-based theatre company said in a post on X.

The Freedom Theatre’s Producer Mustafa Sheta remains detained after being arrested in another Israeli raid on December 13.

As the Israeli operations persisted across various West Bank locations, including Balata refugee camp, Nablus, Tubas, Bethlehem, and Qalqilya, sounds of explosions and intense exchanges between Palestinian resistance fighters and Israeli occupation forces echoed through Jenin.

The current intensification of Israeli raids, ongoing for nearly two years but intensifying since October 7, has resulted in several thousand arrests and casualties, with at least 303 Palestinians killed in the occupied West Bank by either the Israeli military or armed Israeli settlers.
