Iran’s Jahrom to Export 16,000 Tons of Fresh Dates by Yearend: Official
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The director of the Agricultural Department in Jahrom, Iran’s southern province of Fars, predicted that 16,000 tons of fresh dates will be exported from the county to the Asian and European countries by the end of the current Iranian calendar year (to end March 20, 2024).
Hassan Zamani noted that more than 6,000 tons of fresh dates from “Shahani”, “Zahedi”, “Mazafati” and “Piarom” types have been exported to foreign countries since the Iranian month of Mehr (started on October 22), Mehr news agency reported.
The date products have been exported from Shahid Rajaei and Shahid Bahonar ports after being declared at Jahrom Customs and disinfecting operations, he added.
India, Malaysia, Oman, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), European countries and the Eurasian Economic Union’s member states have been the destinations of the dates of this county.
It is expected that the export of dates from Jahrom County will increase to 16,000 tons by the end of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20, 2024), the official added.
