TEHRAN (Tasnim) – At least one person was killed and several others were injured in Rafah when an Israeli warplane bombed an apartment building at dawn, according to Palestinian news agency Wafa, citing local sources.
The bombing occurred in the Tal as-Sultan neighborhood to the west of Rafah, home to over 1.3 million Palestinians living in dangerously overcrowded conditions.
Palestinians were seen searching among the rubble of a mosque and other buildings destroyed in Rafah on Wednesday.
Wafa reported that dozens of people were killed and others injured in the Israeli bombing of Omar bin Abdul-Aziz Mosque in the al-Tanour neighborhood.
Israeli forces entered Al-Khair Hospital between Khan Younis and Rafah, according to the latest update from the UN humanitarian agency (OCHA).
