EU Evaluates ‘Iran Air’ for ACC3 Certificate Extension
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s National Flag Carrier, Iran Air, was assessed by the inspector of the European Union for three days for the extension of its ACC3 (Air Cargo or Mail Carrier) security certificate.
To receive its ACC3 security certificate, Iran Air was evaluated in 2013 for the first time and then, embarked on the renewal of the certificate for the third time in 2024.
Airline companies that fly from other countries to the European Union are required to get the ACC3 security certificate.
This certificate, which is related to carrying cargo and mail to the European Union, is granted to airline companies by auditors of ACC3 after checking the observation of requirements and the necessary standards of the companies.
The certificate is valid for five years and for the extension of the certificate, airline companies will be evaluated by the auditors of the European Union to ensure their compliance with the standards, Mehr news agency reported.
ACC3 stands for “Air Cargo or Mail Carrier operating into the Union from a Third Country Airport”.
To gain ACC3, an airline must acquire EU Aviation Security Validation performed by an Independent Validator that has been accredited by an EU member state.
