Esteghlal Edges Past Sanat Naft: IPL
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Esteghlal football team defeated struggling Sanat Naft 1-0 in the 2023-24 Iran Professional League (IPL) on Friday.
Mehdi Mehdipour scored the only goal of the match in the 47th minute in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium.
On Thursday, Persepolis lost to Aluminum 1-0 in Arak, Malavan beat Zob Ahan 1-0 in Isfahan, Paykan drew 1-1 with Nassaji in Tehran, Shams Azar and Esteghlal Khuzestan played out a goalless draw in Qazvin, and Mes was held to a 0-0 draw by Havadar in Rafsanjan.
Esteghlal leads the table with 35 points, four points above Sepahan.
