Indirect Talks between Iran, US Only on Sanctions Removal: Source
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – An informed source dismissed reports about indirect negotiations between Iran and the US on the Red Sea developments, saying the talks are limited to the lifting of sanctions.
Referring to a report by the Financial Times on talks between an Iranian and an American delegation on issues like the recent developments in the Red Sea, the source said there have been no such talks, adding that resorting to psychological war and distortion of realities is part of the United States' strategy to make up for its failure in the field of diplomacy.
The source added that the exchange of messages between Tehran and Washington only takes place on the issue of sanction removal and no messages have been exchanged between the two sides on the developments in the Red Sea, IRNA reported.
Efforts for the removal of the cruel sanctions has always been on the agenda of the Iranian side and, as said multiple times before, exchanges of messages with the other sides are aimed at clearly conveying the Islamic Republic of Iran’s messages, the informed source stated.
Iran always prefers dialogue over other options and tries to use all means and opportunities to foil the other sides’ attempts to influence the world public opinion, the source went on to say.
