Iran Downs Turkmenistan at 2024 CAFA U-18 Women’s C’ship
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran defeated Turkmenistan 7-0 at the 2024 CAFA U-18 Women’s Championship opener on Monday.
Maryam Dini (two goals), Somayeh Esmaeili (two goals), Tania Jahanshahi, Zahra Khanlarzadeh and Nazanin Mansouri scored for the Iranian team.
Iran had defeated Uzbekistan 4-2 in its opening match on Sunday.
Maryam Jahan Nejati’s girls will face Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan on Friday and Sunday, respectively.
The tournament is being held in Dushanbe, Tajikistan from April 19 to 28.
A total of five teams compete in an exciting single round-robin format.
