Biography of Father of Iran’s Missile Industry Unveiled in Tehran Book Fair

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – “The Eternal Man”, the biography of late Iranian commander Brigadier General Hassan Tehrani-Moqaddam, known as the father of Iran’s missile industry, was unveiled during the 35th edition of the Tehran International Book Fair on Sunday.

The book, published in three volumes, was unveiled in a ceremony attended by its author, Ma’soumeh Sepehri, and the family of the late commander.

A number of senior Islamic Revolution Guards Corps commanders were also present in the ceremony.

The book sheds light on various stages of the martyr’s life and tries to introduce the military, social and cultural aspects of his character to the younger generation.

It took the author 13 years to write the book, which includes 800 pictures.

Brigadier General Hassan Tehrani-Moqaddam, the highly revered commander famous for his work of pure genius in the field of missile technology, was martyred in an incident while conducting research on a missile project on November 12, 2011.

In remarks in September 2020, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei paid tribute to Tehrani-Moqaddam for his role in Iran’s technological and scientific innovation during the Sacred Defense era in the 1980s.

“We did not have the necessary resources, but our pious and altruistic forces thought of building and manufacturing them. For example, the late Shahid Hassan Tehrani-Moqaddam launched the missile manufacturing endeavor. Once, he as well as others asked us to go and pay a visit to their achievements. Well, we went there and witnessed that they had really begun the endeavor. Well, we needed missiles, but they would not give them to us. The enemy had missiles and he would strike us with them. This made our talented forces think of doing something. And they did a brilliant job. They did it in the best way possible which has continued until the present time,” the Leader stated.
