Iran’s Khosravi Bags Gold at 2024 World Para Athletics
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Yasin Khosravi won the gold medal at the 2024 World Para Athletics Championships on Friday.
Khosravi came first in the Men's Shot Put F57 Final with a throw of 15.83 meters.
Brazilian athlete Thiago Paulino dos Santos finished in second with 15.08 meters and Finland’s Teijo Koopikka claimed the bronze with 14.74 meters.
Shot putter Amir Hossein Alipour, runner Hajar Safarzadeh and javelin thrower Saeid Afrooz had previously won three gold medals.
Held in East Asia for the first time and known as a crucial qualifier for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, the Kobe 2024 Para Athletics World Championships has attracted over 1,000 athletes from 100 countries and regions competing in 168 events.
