Oman Keen to Diversify Relations with Iran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Oman considers its relations with Iran to be strategic and is willing to promote and diversify the bilateral cooperation, the foreign minister of the sultanate said.

In a meeting with the acting president of Iran, held in Tehran on Monday, Foreign Minister of Oman Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi offered condolences on the passing away of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian in a recent helicopter crash.

"The government and nation of Oman have lost their close friends in this bitter and sad incident and share the grief of the Iranian nation," he said.

The Omani minister also wished success for the Iranian government in serving the nation and in realizing the goals of the late president in developing and synergizing with Islamic countries, including Oman.

Al Busaidi described the relations between Oman and Iran as strategic and important, and expressed his country's interest in the diversification of relations with Iran.

He also appreciated the Iranian acting president’s efforts to strengthen relations between the two neighbors.
