Iran Resumes Export of Goods to Iraqi Kurdistan Region: IRICA

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) announced the resumption of the export and transit of goods from Iran’s border customs to Iraq’s Kurdistan region.

IRICA said the export of products to the Kurdistan region of Iraq has resumed.

Earlier, Iraqi’s Kurdistan region had announced that the trucks carrying goods to the destination of Kurdistan in Iraq should pay 15,000 Iraqi dinar to a certain company for the issuance of the waybill, otherwise, it will prevent the admission of trucks, the report added.

Both Iranian and Iraqi drivers protested the move, which led to a halt in the export and transit of goods to the Iraqi’s Kurdistan region, ISNA reported.

Following an agreement made between the customs officials of Iraq’s Kurdistan region and the truck drivers, the export and transit of goods was resumed from Iran’s border customs, IRICA added.
