Israeli Airstrike on Syria’s Aleppo Causes Casualties

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - An Israeli airstrike struck northwestern Syria in a new act of aggression, targeting areas near Aleppo and causing casualties and material damage, according to Syrian state media.

Quoting an unnamed military source, Syria’s official SANA news agency reported that the attack originated from the southeast of Aleppo shortly after midnight on Monday.

Several locations in the vicinity of Aleppo were reportedly targeted, resulting in deaths and material damage.

The Syrian military source did not specify the number of casualties or whether they were military personnel or civilians.

Other media reports indicated that 17 people were killed and 15 others injured in the attack.

This incident follows Israeli airstrikes last Wednesday that targeted separate locations across Syria, killing four people, including a child.

The Zionist regime’s attacks targeted a central site and a residential building in Baniyas city in Syria’s coastal region, as well as areas near Homs in eastern Syria.

Earlier, an Israeli drone strike hit a car and a truck outside the western Syrian city of al-Qusayr, near the Lebanese border.

Since 2011, the regime has launched hundreds of attacks on Syria as the Arab country has been engulfed in a wave of terrorism and militancy supported by foreign powers.

The Tel Aviv regime has increased its strikes since last October, when it initiated a war on the Gaza Strip, which observers describe as exacerbating regional tensions.
