Iran Exports 500 Tons of Catalysts to Russia: NPC chief
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran exported 500 tons of catalysts to Russia last year, the chief executive of the National Petrochemical Company (NPC) said.
Morteza Shahmirzaei said 500 tons of catalysts were exported from Iran to the Russian Federation in the last Iranian calendar year (March 2023- March 2024).
Speaking at the 14th Iran Petrochemical Forum entitled “Transfer of Technology and Indigenization of Catalysts in Gas, Refining and Petrochemical Industries”, he added that Iranian and Russian companies have established constructive cooperation in recent years, IRNA reported.
The deputy oil minister also announced the launch of the 5th Petrochemical Research & Technology Center in the Makran coastal region in southeast Iran and noted that the trend of indigenizing the petrochemical industry gained momentum considerably in the administration of the late President Ebrahim Raisi with a focus on the development of the catalysts industry.
Shahmirzaei put the number of the current petrochemical complexes in the country at 18, noting that the annual production capacity of the petrochemicals has exceeds 100 million tons.
