US Provides Israel with Over 25,000 Bombs, Missiles Since October 2023

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - The United States has supplied Israel with more than 25,000 bombs and missiles since October 7, 2023, amid the ongoing genocidal war in Gaza, according to The New York Times.

The New York Times reported on Thursday, citing the Jewish Institute for National Security of America, that the US has delivered over 20,000 unguided bombs, approximately 2,600 guided bombs, and 3,000 surgical strike missiles to the occupied Palestinian territories since the war began.

The Israeli war began with a retaliatory operation by Gaza’s resistance groups against the occupied territories. In response, Israel has been using the US-supplied munitions against numerous civilian targets.

Earlier this month, Israeli military radio reported that the Israeli Air Force dropped eight US-manufactured JDAM (Joint Direct Attack Munition) bombs on the al-Mawasi refugee camp in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, resulting in 390 Palestinian casualties, both dead and injured.

The ongoing war has claimed more than 39,175 Palestinian lives, predominantly women and children, and has wounded 90,257 others.

In June, The Washington Post revealed that the US had provided Israel with over $6.5 billion in military supplies since the conflict began. This figure marks a significant increase compared to Washington's annual military aid for Tel Aviv, which stands at approximately $3.3 billion.

The US has repeatedly used its veto power to block UN Security Council resolutions that call for an immediate ceasefire in the conflict.

This substantial political and military backing from the US continues despite a January order from the International Court of Justice, the UN's top court, directing Israel to take all measures within its power to prevent genocide in Gaza.
