Al-Shabaab Terror Attack in Somalia Draws Iran’s Condemnation

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iranian Foreign Ministry’s spokesperson condemned a deadly attack by the al-Shabaab terrorist group that has killed over 30 people in Somalia’s capital, Mogadishu.

Nasser Kanaani on Sunday condemned the terrorist attack by the terrorist group in the city of Mogadishu that killed and injured scores of Somali civilians on August 2.

He expressed sympathy with the Somali government and the families of the victims of this terrorist attack.

At least 32 people have been killed and many more wounded in the suicide bombing and gun attack on a popular beach in Mogadishu.

Al-Shabaab, an al-Qaeda-linked armed group, has claimed responsibility for the attack on Lido Beach.

Al-Shabaab has been fighting to topple the fragile central government in Mogadishu for more than 17 years, carrying out numerous bombings and other attacks in the capital and other parts of the country.
