Iranian Greco-Roman Wrestler Mirzazadeh Claims Bronze in 2024 Olympics
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Greco-Roman wrestler Amin Mirzazadeh won Iran’s first medal in the 2024 Olympic Games Tuesday night.
He defeated Azerbaijan’s Sabah Shariati 4-0 in the 130kg bronze-medal match.
Mirzazadeh scored on a passivity point then scored two more on a gut wrench for a 3-0 lead in the first period.
In the second period, Mirzazadeh earned another passivity point but didn’t get a turn for a 4-0 lead and eventually the win.
