Zionist Regime Main Cause of Tension in Region: Iranian FM

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi described the Zionist regime of Israel as the main cause of tension in the region.

In a telephone conversation with Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi, Araqchi said Israel is the main source of the spread of tension and conflicts in the region with the continuation of its criminal actions.

He also referred to Israel as the main obstacle on the way to reaching an agreement to end the war in the Gaza Strip.

He stressed the need for effective action by the international community to stop the genocide in Gaza and send humanitarian aid to the Palestinians.

The Islamic Republic of Iran will support any agreement accepted by the people and resistance movement of Palestine, he stated.

Elsewhere, Iran’s top diplomat emphasized that the country is ready to have constructive dialogues with Jordan regarding bilateral ties and regional-international issues.

The Jordanian minister of foreign affairs congratulated his Iranian counterpart for becoming the new foreign minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran and wished him success in the new position.

Expressing concern about the humanitarian situation in Gaza and the spread of tensions in the West Bank, Safadi said it is necessary to end the tension in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank as soon as possible.

During the talk, the Iranian and Jordanian foreign ministers emphasized the need for the continuation of consultations in line with securing the interests of the people of the two countries and the region.
