Iran Summons 4 European Envoys
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The heads of diplomatic missions of Germany, France, the UK and the Netherlands in Tehran were called in by the Iranian Foreign Ministry on Thursday in protest at the allegations of Iran’s involvement in the Ukraine war made by those European governments.
The German, French, British and Dutch diplomats were summoned separately by the Iranian Foreign Ministry in protest at the unconstructive comments from the European officials following a recent unconventional statement from the European troika that announced fresh sanctions against Iran under the pretext that Tehran has been involved in the Ukraine war.
In meetings with the four European envoys, the director general of the Iranian Foreign Ministry’s Western Europe Department strongly condemned the allegations and destructive measures against Tehran, saying, “Insistence on the adoption of such stances and measures is deemed to be a continuation of the West’s hostile policies against the Iranian people, which, however, will get the Islamic Republic of Iran’s appropriate response.”
The Iranian official reiterated that the accusations that Iran has sold Russia ballistic missiles are totally unfounded and false.
“The US and a number of its European allies are talking about security and peace, while they themselves are the source of creation of tension and escalation of crisis in the world by selling lethal weapons to the Zionist regime. Naturally, they must be held accountable for their wrong policies considering the consequences (of arms sales to Israel),” he added.
