Iran’s Transit of Goods via Road Up 61% in H1: Director General
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – An official at Iran’s Roads and Maintenance Services Organization reported that the country’s transit of goods via road registered a 61 percent growth in the first half of the current Iranian calendar year.
The director general of the International Transport and Transit Office of the Roads and Maintenance Services Organization, affiliated to the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development, revealed the growing trend of transit via road in the first half of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21 to September 22, 2024).
In this period, 9.3 million tons of goods were transited from the territory of the country, showing a 61 percent hike compared to last year’s corresponding period, Javad Hedayati stated, IRIB reported.
More than 5 million tons of non-oil goods had been transited from the country between March 21 and September 22, 2023, he added.
