Iran’s Roads Transit Up 73% in 5-Month Period

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s transit of goods via roads in the first five months of the current Iranian calendar year (started March 21, 2024) registered a 73% growth compared to the same period last year.

Some 7.8 million tons of goods were transited from Iran between March 21 and August 22, 2024, showing a 73 percent growth compared to last year’s corresponding period.

Some 4.5 million tons of goods had been transited from the country in the first five months of the previous Iranian calendar year (March 21 to August 22, 2023).

The largest volume of transit of goods has been reported from Parvizkhan Border Terminal and Shahid Rajaee Port.

A total of  2.2 million tons of goods were transited from Parvizkhan Border Terminal from March 21 to August 22, 2024.
