Iran’s Export of Steel Products Hits $2.9 Billion in Six Months

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – More than 5 million tons of steel products were exported from Iran in the first six months of the current Iranian calendar year (started March 21, 2024).

Iran exported 5.7 million tons of steel products, valued at $2.9 billion, between March 21 and September 22, 2024, registering a 13 and a 14 percent growth in weight and value respectively.

In this period, Iran exported $730 million, $571 million and $210 million of steel, iron ingots, rebar and steel sheets respectively.

Steel exports from Iran have increased in general in the past two years amid an ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine which has affected supplies from the two major steel producers.
