79% of Mosques in Gaza Flattened in Israeli Genocidal War

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Ministry of Religious Affairs in Gaza announced that Israel has destroyed or severely damaged 79% of mosques in the Gaza Strip during its genocidal war against Palestinians.

The Palestinian governmental body revealed on Saturday that Israel's military has leveled 814 of Gaza's 1,245 mosques and inflicted severe damage on 148 others during its intensified bombardment.

In addition to mosques, three churches were also destroyed, and 19 of the territory's 60 cemeteries were deliberately targeted, according to the ministry's statement.

The ministry estimated the financial damage to its properties at $350 million.

The statement further said that the Israeli army has been desecrating graves, exhuming bodies, and committing acts of brutality against the deceased, such as stealing remains and mutilating bodies.

The ministry also reported that 11 administrative and educational facilities under its authority were destroyed, accounting for 79% of such structures in Gaza.

It added that Israeli forces had killed 238 ministry employees and detained 19 others during ground operations in the territory.

The ministry condemned the attacks on Gaza’s religious sites and called on the international community, including governments and Islamic organizations, to intervene immediately to stop an "ongoing war of extermination."

Israel has continued its one-year brutal offensive on the Gaza Strip, despite a UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire.

Local health authorities report that more than 41,800 people have been killed, the majority being women and children, while over 96,800 others have been injured.

The ongoing Israeli assault has displaced almost the entire population of Gaza, while a blockade has caused severe shortages of food, clean water, and medicine.

Israel is currently facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its actions in Gaza.
