At Least 24 Palestinians Killed in Israeli Strikes on Gaza Mosque, School

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Israeli airstrikes on a mosque and a school-turned-shelter in Gaza killed at least 24 Palestinians and wounded 93, according to local officials.

Gaza's Government Media Office said Israeli forces carried out "two brutal massacres" overnight, targeting the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Ibn Rushd School, both sheltering displaced Palestinians. The attacks left 24 dead and 93 injured, the office said on Telegram.

The Israeli military, without providing evidence, claimed the mosque was being used by Hamas as a "command and control complex." The strikes followed 27 other assaults on homes and shelters across Gaza in the previous 48 hours, according to local reports.

Rescue efforts, captured in verified footage, showed crews retrieving bodies from the rubble of the mosque, which is located near Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital. Israeli forces claimed steps were taken to minimize civilian casualties, all of the dead were civilians.

Meanwhile, in northern Gaza, airstrikes killed at least 11 people, including an infant, and trapped others under debris. Israeli authorities have urged residents to evacuate to al-Mawasi, citing Hamas' use of civilian areas for military purposes.

More than 50 Palestinians have been killed since Saturday in Israel's year-long genocidal war.
