Israeli Settlements Targeted As Hezbollah Expands Operations

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Hezbollah intensified its attacks on Israeli targets, launching rockets and drones on settlements and military positions, citing solidarity with Palestinians and defense against Israeli aggression.

The Lebanese resistance movement carried out multiple attacks on Israeli settlements on Sunday, targeting Kiryat Shmona, Nahariyya, and others, in response to the Israeli genocide in Gaza and the regime’s aggression against Lebanon.

"In support of our steadfast Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and in defense of Lebanon and its people, the fighters of the Islamic Resistance, at 7:15 PM on Sunday, 27-10-2024, bombed the settlement of Ayelet HaShahar with a barrage of rockets," Hezbollah stated.

The group also confirmed a drone strike on the Shoumera settlement earlier the same day, saying, “The Islamic Resistance fighters targeted on Sunday afternoon, 27-10-2024, the Shoumera settlement with an attack drone, hitting its targets accurately.”

Further rocket attacks targeted concentrations of Israeli soldiers in other settlements within the occupied territories. Hezbollah reported that at 10:00 PM on Sunday, its fighters launched a barrage of rockets at a military gathering in the Misgav Am settlement.

Hezbollah also conducted a drone strike on the Marj site inside occupied territories, which caused casualties among Israeli forces. Additionally, its air defense units engaged Israeli warplanes and a Hermes 900 drone, forcing them to exit Lebanese airspace using surface-to-air missiles.

The resistance movement has ramped up its military operations following Israeli assassinations of its leaders, highlighting its advanced capabilities.

Hezbollah’s actions follow Israel's sustained attacks on Lebanon, which began in October 2023 after the group opened a "support front" in response to Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza.

The intensified conflict has resulted in the deaths of 2,483 Lebanese civilians and injuries to 11,628 others. In retaliation, Hezbollah has been targeting positions within the occupied Palestinian territories, maintaining pressure on Israeli forces.
