Qalibaf Congratulates Naim Qassem on Appointment as Hezbollah Chief
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Speaker of the Iranian Parliament Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf congratulated Sheikh Naim Qassem on his appointment as the secretary general of Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah.
In the congratulatory message on Tuesday, the Iranian Parliament speaker praised Sheikh Qassem as a seasoned figure who is firmly committed to the goals and principles of the resistance front and Hezbollah.
Paying tribute to the late secretary general of Hezbollah, Seyed Hassan Nasrallah, who was martyred in an Israeli airstrike in Beirut on September 27, Qalibaf prayed that the tenure of Sheikh Qassem, the perseverance shown by the Islamic resistance combatants, the support provided by the Lebanese nation, and the Islamic community’s unity might result in the defeat and complete destruction of the Zionist regime.
The Iranian Parliament speaker also reminded the enemies that the martyrdom of the resistance front’s stellar characters would by no means undermine the resistance forces’ determination.
In a statement on Tuesday, Hezbollah announced that Qassem was selected due to his “adherence to the principles and goals of Hezbollah.”
Hezbollah’s leadership emphasized that the decision to appoint Qassem aligns with the group’s commitment to " pure Muhammadan Islam" and its foundational principles.
Hezbollah also reaffirmed its dedication to its founding objectives, pledging loyalty to the “spirit of our martyr, Seyed Hassan Nasrallah,” along with all other fallen fighters and the steadfast people of Lebanon.
