Persepolis Beats Gol Gohar, Esteghlal Ends Losing Streak: IPL
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Persepolis football team edged past Gol Gohar 1-0 in the 2024-25 Iran Professional League (IPL) on Saturday.
Persepolis captain Vahid Amiri found the back of the net seven minutes into the second half in Sirjan’s Shahid Soleimani Sport Complex.
Sepahan was held to a 1-1 draw against struggling Nassaji in Isfahan’s Fooladshahr Stadium. Mersad Seyfi gave the visiting team the lead in the 27th minute and Steven Nzonzi scored an equalizer in injury time to avoid a home loss.
In Tehran’s Shar-e Qods Stadium, Esteghlal defeated Mes 1-0. Abolfazl Zamani scored in the ninth minute.
Esteghlal had lost seven times out of their eight matches.
Sepahan sits top of the table with 21 points, one point above Persepolis.
