Yemeni Forces, Iraqi Allies Launch Drone Strikes in Retaliation for Gaza Attacks
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - The Yemeni Armed Forces, in coordination with the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, carried out drone strikes on critical targets in southern occupied Palestine and Yaffa, vowing further retaliation amid the ongoing Israeli genocide in Gaza.
The Yemeni Armed Forces announced that they, in cooperation with the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, conducted a military operation targeting vital Israeli positions in southern occupied Palestine using multiple drones.
According to the statement, the operation "successfully achieved its objectives."
In a separate action, the Yemeni UAV Force targeted a military installation in occupied Yaffa with a drone strike.
The Yemeni military confirmed that this operation also "achieved its goal."
The Armed Forces warned it will react to any Israeli-American escalation, stating they would respond proportionally to any "aggression against Yemen."
They pledged to target "vital facilities" belonging to Israel and to counter US military actions in Yemen.
The statement emphasized that ongoing attacks on Palestinians in Gaza would prompt additional strikes through missile forces, air forces, and joint operations with Iraqi allies.
"These operations will not stop until the aggression on Gaza ends and the siege is lifted," the statement read.
Meanwhile, large demonstrations erupted in Yemen as thousands flooded the streets of Sana’a and Saada in solidarity with Palestinians.
Protesters voiced support for Gaza, condemning the "Israeli genocide" and reaffirming their unwavering commitment to the Palestinian cause.
Yemeni forces have taken steps to demonstrate their support for the Palestinian resistance in Gaza, including targeting Israeli vessels in the Red Sea and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.
Furthermore, Yemeni armed forces have launched a number of missile and drone attacks on Israeli-occupied territories, with a particular focus on Tel Aviv. They have promised to continue these operations as long as Israel continues its attacks on Gaza, indicating the possibility of further escalation in the region.
In October, the US military sent B-2 stealth bombers to bomb Yemen in support of Israel. Since then, Israel, the United States, and the United Kingdom have continued to launch attacks on Yemen in an effort to halt Sana'a's retaliatory attacks.
