Thailand Appeals for Iran’s Help in Releasing Citizens Held Captive in Gaza

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Foreign Minister of Thailand Maris Sangiampongsa appreciated Iran for its good offices in the release of a number of Thai nationals held captive by Hamas in Gaza, asking Tehran to keep playing a role in the efforts to ensure the release of the remaining ones.

In a telephone conversation on Wednesday evening, Sangiampongsa and his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araqchi discussed the relations between Bangkok and Tehran as well as the latest regional developments.

Thailand’s foreign minister praised Iran's commendable efforts that previously led to the release of several Thai nationals in Gaza and called for the continuation of Tehran’s constructive role in this regard.

Sangiampongsa also underscored his country's commitment to developing bilateral ties in the areas of mutual interest.

For his part, Araqchi referred to the good and mutually respectful relationship between Tehran and Bangkok, stressing Iran's determination to comprehensively enhance the ties in the economic, political, and cultural fields.
