Al Sadd Defeats Sepahan in AFC Champions League
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iran’s Sepahan lost to Al Sadd of Qatar in the AFC Champions League on Wednesday.
In the match held in Group D in Doha’s Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium, Al Sadd defeated the Iranian outfit 3-1.
Qatar striker Khalfan Ibrahim was on target in the 18th minute.
In the 78th minute, Sepahan striker Mehdi Sharifi equalized the match.
Nadir Belhadj scored in the 87th minute for the host and Rodrigo Tabata made it 3-1 in the injury time.
Elsewhere, Iran’s Tractor Sazi defeated Al Ittihad of Saudi Arabia in its first AFC Champions League match.
In the match held in Iran's northwestern city of Tabriz’s Yadegar-e Emam Stadium in Group C, Tractor Sazi defeated the Saudi Arabian representative 1-0.
Last night, Iran’s Esteghalal was defeated by Al Shabab of Saudi Arabia in its home game in Group A.
Foolad was also held to a goalless draw by El Jaish in Doha in Group B.
