Government to Review New Oil Contracts: Iran's VP

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s vice-president for legal affairs said the government will look into new oil deals before giving the go-ahead for their implementation.

New oil contracts will be sent to the government soon and approved for implementation after being reviewed, Elham Aminzadeh said during a visit to the 19th International Oil, Gas, Refining and Petrochemical Exhibition here in Tehran.

She said oil contracts should be attractive to international companies and safeguard Iran’s rights at the same time.

In relevant remarks earlier this year, Iran’s Deputy Oil Minister for International and Commercial Affairs Ali Majedi talked about efforts to review Iran's oil contracts to facilitate conditions for investment in oil industry.

“The move to review the oil contracts is aimed at making them more attractive and facilitating the conditions for investments and a new generation of oil contracts will be unveiled to attract foreign investments,” Majedi said at the time.
