Attitudes of Sponsors of Terrorism Changed after Syria’s Resistance: Iran's MP
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Chairman of the Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi on Wednesday hailed Syria’s resistance against terrorist groups, saying that it has changed the stance and attitude of sponsors of terrorism.
Boroujerdi raised the issue at a meeting with Syrian Deputy Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad in Tehran.
He further noted that Israel and Israeli-supported Takfiri terrorists have failed, in the past four years, to undermine the determination of the Syrian people and leaders to resist against the Quds occupying Israeli regime, and underlined that the Syrian nation would be the ultimate winner.
Boroujerdi reiterated Tehran’s continued support for the Arab country against the aggression of terrorists and their foreign supporters.
Mekdad, for his part, appreciated Iran for supporting his country in hard times, and said that Iran-Syria "strategic relations" will leave effective impact on regional and global equations.
Earlier this month, Syria's prime minister said the country wanted to drive all insurgents out of its territory in 2015 and was prepared to back any attempts to fight global militancy.
Wael al-Halqi said Syria's main aim was to "flush out all terrorists from its land" this year and it would "back any initiatives to fight global terrorism."
He said Syria would not allow its enemies "to destroy the land of religions and cradle of civilizations" and praised the army for its efforts.
