General Soleimani Attends February 11 Rallies
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Commander of the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Major General Qassem Soleimani took part in the Wednesday demonstration to mark the 36th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution victory.
The internationally renowned commander was among the large crowds of people that poured into the streets on Wednesday morning for the national celebration.
In his comments in Iran's southeastern city of Kerman on the occasion of February 11, Major General Soleimani said the signs of the Islamic Revolution’s spread to the entire region are now obvious in many countries, from Bahrain and Iraq to Syria, Yemen and North Africa.
Millions of Iranian people of different social strata, carrying flags and banners in support of the Islamic Republic, poured into the streets on Wednesday in nationwide mass rallies to mark the event.
More than 1,000 cities and over 5,000 villages across Iran saw demonstration for the national celebration.
In a statement at the conclusion of their huge rallies in Tehran, demonstrators underlined that Iran’s defensive achievements, including its missile capabilities, are not negotiable.
Iran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) are in talks to hammer out a final agreement to end more than a decade of impasse over Tehran’s nuclear energy program.
Following an interim nuclear deal signed in Geneva in November 2013, two deadlines for a final, comprehensive deal have been missed, and now a third one is looming on July 1.
