Iranian Deputy Minister to Attend Moscow Int’l Book Fair
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Deputy Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance for Cultural Affairs Seyed Abbas Salehi is due to visit the Russian capital to attend the upcoming Moscow International Book Fair (MIBF).
Salehi’s attendance in this edition of MIBF will come while Iran’s Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Ali Jannati is believed to have cancelled his planned visit to the fair.
Salehi is scheduled to deliver a speech on a special program titled “A Day for Iran”, which will be held on September 5 on the sidelines of the exhibition.
He will also hold meetings with a number of Russian cultural officials during his stay in Moscow.
During A Day for Iran, a number of Iranian books translated into Russian are scheduled to be unveiled, Russian Iranologists will be honored, and renowned Iranian musician Keyvan Saket will have a live performance, among other programs.
In this edition of MIBF due to be held from September 2 to 7, Iran is the guest of honor with a free area of 300 square meters dedicated to Iranian cultural bodies present in the fair to hold workshops on Persian calligraphy, miniature, and music.
The Moscow International Book Fair was established in 1977 and is an official member of the International Organization of Book Publishers.
