Iran’s Culture Minister to Address Moscow Int’l Book Fair’s Inauguration

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Ali Jannati will take part and deliver a speech at the opening ceremony of the upcoming Moscow International Book Fair (MIBF), due to start on September 2, a spokesperson said.

Hossein Nushabadi, the spokesman for the ministry, confirmed on Sunday that Jannati will visit Russia and address the opening ceremony on Wednesday, September 2.

In this edition of the MIBF, Iran is the guest of honor with a free area of 300 square meters dedicated to Iranian cultural bodies present in the fair to hold workshops on Persian calligraphy, miniature, and music.

On the sidelines of the event, which will last until September 7, a special program titled “A Day for Iran” will be held on September 5.

During A Day for Iran, a number of Iranian books translated into Russian are scheduled to be unveiled, several Russian Iranologists will be honored, and renowned Iranian musician Keyvan Saket will have a live performance, among other programs.

The Moscow International Book Fair was established in 1977 and is an official member of the International Organization of Book Publishers.
