Esteghlal Held by Esteghlal Khuzestan in Iran Professional League
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Esteghlal Tehran football team stayed at the top of the Iran Professional League (IPL) despite being held by Esteghlal Khuzestan here at the Azadi Stadium on Wednesday.
Aghil Kaabi was on target for the visiting team in the 38th minute.
Esteghlal Croatian striker Pero Pejic equalized the match in the 43rd minute.
Elsewhere, Naft Tehran earned its first victory in the current season beating Rah Ahan 2-0 thanks to goals from Vahid Amiri (24th) and Arsalan Motahari (89th).
Saba defeated rock-bottom Foolad 2-1, struggling Esteghlal Ahvaz suffered a 3-2 home defeat to Padideh and Zob Ahan played out a goalless draw by Gostaresh Foolad.
