Dozens of ISIL Militants Killed in Syria's Hama Province: Syrian Army

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - A total of 45 militants were killed during an attack on an Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant automobile convoy in the Hama province, a Syrian military spokesman said Friday.

"Our armed forces successfullly continue their advance, supported by the air force," general Ali Maikhoub said.

"An ISIL convoy was attacked near the town of Umm Hadij, resulting in 23 vehicles and 45 terrorists destroyed," he went on to say.

In the Syrian province of Latakia, more than 300 terrorists were killed, Maikhoub said. "Our troops control Jub al-Ahmar and parts of the Salma village," he added.

In addition, the Syrian army has established control over several villages in the eastern part of the Aleppo province, Maikhoub said.

The Syrian army has established full control over Majbal area in the Harasta town and carried out a massive artillery strike in East Ghouta, he added.

Syrian army, supported by Russian airstrikes, continue their offensive in western regions of the country.

Russia started precision airstrikes against ISIL targets in Syria on September 30, following a request from Syria's internationally recognized government. The Russian airstrikes hit targets that are chosen based on intelligence collected by Russia, Syria, Iraq and Iran.
