Hezbollah Destroys Nusra Tank on Lebanon-Syria Border

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Lebanon's Hezbollah Resistance Movement targeted a Nusra Front vehicle along the Syrian-Lebanese border on Wednesday, killing everyone inside, media affiliated with the movement said.

The War Media Center said on Twitter that Hezbollah fighters targeted a tank belonging to the Nusra Front terrorist group with a guided missile in the outskirts of Flita, in the border Qalamoun region.

It identified the tank as a BMP-1, the Daily Star reported.

The area borders Lebanon’s northeastern town of Arsal.

No casualty figures were given.

Hezbollah regularly clashes with extremist groups holed up on Lebanon's northeastern border region with Syria.

The group launched a joint offensive last year with the Syrian army to oust militants from the rugged Qalamoun mountain range along the border.

The Lebanese army pounds extremist hideouts on a nearly daily basis to keep them at bay.
