Iran’s Sadeghzade Wins Bronze at Paralympics Powerlifting

RIO (Tasnim) – Iran’s powerlifter Ali Sadeghzadeh won bronze medal in the men’s up to 107kg at Paralympic Games on Wednesday.

The London Paralympics bronze medal winner finished in third place with 226kg.

World champion Pavlos Mamalos confirmed he is the strongest in the men’s up to 107kg, breaking the Paralympic record with a 238kg lift on his way to gold.

Egyptian Mohamad Ahmed came in second on 233kg.

Iran has participated at the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio with 111 athletes in 12 sports.

The Iranian delegation finished in 11th place in the previous edition, winning 10 gold medals, seven silvers and seven bronze medals.
