Turkish Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Iran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - A Turkish Airlines flight from Istanbul to Vietnam was forced to make an emergency landing in Iran’s southeastern city of Zahedan Saturday due to an in-flight medical emergency, a local official said.

The Airbus A330-300 landed at Zahedan Airport at 7:35 a.m. local time after one of the passengers fell ill, Hassan A’rabi, director of airports of Sistan and Baluchestan Province told Tasnim.

Medical personnel at the airport met the flight upon landing and took the patient to the hospital, he added.

The flight has remained at the airport with people on board, the official noted.

In another recent incident on January 22, a Turkish Airlines flight was forced to make emergency landing in Iran's western city of Kermanshah because of a technical problem.
