Yemeni Forces Fire Missiles at Saudi Troops in Jizan
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Yemeni army and Popular Committees managed to hit a gathering of Saudi-led coalition forces in the kingdom’s southern province of Jizan with missiles, killing and injuring a number of Saudi servicemen.
The missile command of the Yemeni army pounded the gathering of Saudi troops in al-Ataya in Jizan south of the oil-rich kingdom, the Arabic-language al-Masirah television reported.
In the Yemeni forces’ operation, a number of Saudi servicemen were killed or injured, the report said.
During another operation, the missile command hit the forces of the Saudi army in al-Mousem, also in Jizan, with two domestically made missiles dubbed “Zelzal” and Katyusha rockets.
The forces of the Arabian Peninsula country have hit Saudi positions with various homegrown missiles, including “Qaher-1”, which has a range of 500 kilometers, and “Borkan-1”.
Since March 25, 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.
Yemen’s Legal Center of Rights and Development announced recently that the Saudi campaign has claimed the lives of over 12,000 Yemenis and left more than 20,000 others wounded.
