Islamic Solidarity Games: Iranian Freestylers Win Two More Gold Medals
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Freestylers Mostafa Hosseinkhani and Hassan Yazdani bagged two more gold medals for Iranian delegation in the Islamic Solidarity Games on Saturday.
Hosseinkhani won the gold medal after defeating Azerbaijani Murtuzali Muslumov 10-0 in the 70kg final match.
The bronze medal jointly went to Adam Batirov from Bahrain and Turkey’s Zafer Dama.
In the 86kg, Olympic gold medal winner Hassan Yazdani defeated Turkish Selim Yasar 11-0 in the final match to win the gold medal.
Kazakh Adilet Davlumbayev and Sharif Sharifov from Azerbaijan took bronze.
More than 3,000 athletes from 54 countries of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation are competing in 21 sports at the Games.
The Baku 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games started May 8 and will last until May 22 in Azerbaijan’s capital.
