Iran’s Papi Wins Gold at World Para Athletics Championships
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian trio claimed three gold, silver and bronze medals in the men’s javelin F57 of the World Para Athletics Championships 2017 Tuesday night.
Amanollah Papi won the gold medal, throwing a season’s best 44.87m.
The silver and bronze medals went to his teammates Mohammad Khalvandi (42.18m) and Abdollah Heidari Til (41.73m).
Iranian para athletes had already won four silver and two bronze medals in the competition.
The World Para Athletics Championships will run through to 23 July in London.
More than 1,150 athletes from 90 countries are competing in 202 medal events.
