Iran’s Javelin Thrower Nikparast Bags Silver at World Para Athletics Championships
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Sajad Nikparast from Iran claimed a silver medal at the men's javelin throw F12-13 of the World Para Athletics Championships.
On Wednesday, Nikparast won the silver medal in F12 with a throw of 61.88m.
The gold went to Uzbekistan’s Aleksander Svechnikov who threw 71.01 in F13 class.
Hector Cabrera Llacer (F12) from Spain claimed the bronze medal with a throw of 61.53m.
Iranian para athletes had already won one gold, five silver and three bronze medals in the competition.
The World Para Athletics Championships will run through July 23 in London.
More than 1,150 athletes from 90 countries are competing in 202 medal events.
