Enmity between Iran, US Not to End Anytime Soon: Civil Defense Chief
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Head of Iran’s Civil Defense Organization Brigadier General Gholam Reza Jalali highlighted the deep roots of the differences between the Islamic Republic and the US government and said due to the differences, the age-old enmity is not going to end soon.
“Due to several reasons, hostilities between the Americans and us will never come to an end,” Brigadier General Jalali said in a speech on Saturday.
The enmity is strong and deep-rooted, he said, stressing that the coming into office of various presidents in the US has no effect on the hostility.
“We do not accept the dominance of the US over the world,” the official said, adding that since the US government is one of arrogance, it likes to dominate the world.
He also pointed to Washington’s threats against Tehran and said the US government is seeking to undermine the Islamic Republic’s elements of power in the region.
While the US rhetoric of military action against Iran has become a boring story for Iranians, the Islamic Republic’s officials have made it clear that the country’s Armed Forces are ready to give a crushing response to any act of aggression.
They have also stressed the need for maintaining preparedness in the face of all threats.
Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei has on various occasions emphasized the necessity for incessant progress of the Iranian Armed Forces irrespective of political developments.
