Persepolis Crowned Iran Professional League Champion

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Persepolis claimed the Iran Professional League (IPL) title for the second year in a row on Saturday.

The Iranian popular football team defeated Padideh 1-0 at the Samen Stadium in Mashhad and won the title for the 11th time.

With three weeks remaining, Persepolis lifted the trophy as the team sealed the title last season with three weeks remaining.

Sepahan is the most successful club, with five titles in IPL, while Persepolis is the Iranian record champion, with 11 titles.

Elsewhere, Zob Ahan defeated struggling Sepidrood 3-0 in Isfahan.

Tractor Sazi also drew 1-1 with Sepahan in Tabriz.
