Indian FC Goa Eyes Iran’s Masoud Shojaei
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iranian national football team's captain Masoud Shojaei has been shortlisted to replace Manuel Lanzarote’s in Indian football club Goa, local media reports said.
Shojaei, who has played at three World Cup finals and captained Team Melli against Morocco, has already played under FC Goa coach Sergio Lobera at Las Palmas in 2014.
“Shojaei has offers from two big clubs. He is considering out offer and knows what to expect in India since Sergio knows him from his time in Spain. We’ve got options. This time around, there are players willing to play in India,” said a club official, The Times of India reported.
Shojaei will leave AEK Athens but has not yet announced which team he wants to join.
He has been also linked with a move to Apollon Smyrnis.
