Humanitarian Crisis Continue to Worsen in Yemen (+Video)

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - The situation in Yemen deemed as the worst humanitarian crisis in the world, as severely malnourished children, people hustling for food, destroyed buildings have been captured in the streets of Hudaydah and Saada.

More than 1.8 million children from 6 months to 5 years old according to the World Food Program have become victims of malnutrition, with temporary hospitals as the one filmed in Saada assisting such kids and their families, according to Ruptly video news agency.

As at least 3 million of Yemeni population is internally displaced, people are trying to find shelter in other parts of the country, though it doesn’t seem to comfort those who managed to move.

The Yemeni port of Hudaydah is the country's main point of entry for food aid. With 8.4 million Yemeni people forced to the brink of starvation according to the UN, the country has been plunged into a severe humanitarian crisis.

People were seen queuing up at humanitarian aid distribution site in Hudaydah, waiting for food and sanitary kits.

The Saudi-led war in Yemen started in 2015 as an attempt to crush Houthi Ansarollah movement in the region and reinstall former president Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi. The conflict has created a dire humanitarian situation in the country.
