Vostok 2018 Drills: Missiles Repelled by Russian Anti-Aircraft Systems (+Video)
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Russian anti-aircraft missile system repelled a simulated air attack at the Zabaikalsky Krai’s Telemba firing range as part of the massive Vostok-2018 drills.
According to Russian Ministry of Defense, the simulation involved radar stations detecting over 30 airborne targets flying at different heights and speeds.
Target information was then passed to the S-400, S-300, Buk, and Tor anti-aircraft missile, as well as Pantsir-S medium-range surface-to-air missile systems. All the simulated targets were successfully eliminated.
The Vostok-2018 military exercises run from 11-17 September, in the Far East of Russia. Around 300,000 troops, 1,000 aircraft, 36,000 armored vehicles and 80 vessels are involved in the war games, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense. They are joined by the personnel from the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) and Mongolia.
