Israeli Airstrikes on Gaza Kill at Least 26 People, Wounds Dozens More

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Israeli military airstrikes on the Gaza Strip have killed at least 26 people and injured several others, with some reports indicating that the death toll could rise.

The Israeli military launched new airstrikes on Gaza early on Friday, leaving at least 26 people dead and dozens more injured in the besieged Palestinian territory. The fresh wave of attacks comes as the region remains under siege.

The raids included a deadly strike on the Mishmish family home in Nuseirat camp, central Gaza, which killed two children.

Another Israeli attack hit the Salman family home west of Deir al-Balah, killing four people.

In Zawayda, a town in central Gaza, an Israeli airstrike targeted the Shalt family home, killing three Palestinians, including a journalist.
Reports indicate that at least 70 Palestinians, including children, have been killed in Gaza in the last 24 hours.

Since Israel began its air campaign on October 7, 2023, over 45,581 Palestinians have been killed, with the majority being women and children, and more than 108,000 others injured.

Throughout this genocidal onslaught, Israel has repeatedly targeted Gaza’s civilian infrastructure, including hospitals, in violation of international law.

Later on Friday, the UN Security Council is set to hold an emergency meeting to address Israeli attacks on hospitals in Gaza, with particular focus on the Kamal Adwan hospital in Beit Lahia, located in the northern part of the city.

The meeting was called by Algeria, which holds the presidency of the UN Security Council for January 2025.
